“He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”  Micah 6:8

Over these past several months there has been an opportunity for me to evaluate my leadership, relationships, and pace of life.  It has been helpful for me to listen, reflect, and pray.  I realized how fast my life was going, running from one thing to the next.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a leadership conference and one speaker, Michael Todd shared important Biblical truths that I needed to hear.

  • When the leader gets better, everyone around them gets better.
  • Find the right pace of your leadership.  If the pace is too fast, you can burn out. Look to Jesus as the model.  He fulfilled his mission in 3 years and yet, we never saw him running to get anything done. In fact, look at the times he withdrew, rested, went out of his way to have conversations. This is a great reminder for me and how I lead in ministry and my family.
  • Pace of Grace- I need to include this in my life with a combination of rest, relationships, hard work and health/wellness.  I need to be mentally and emotionally available to my wife, my sons, family, friends, staff, and ministry.

My prayer for you is that you will find the pace that connects you more to Jesus!
