In This World You Will Have Trouble

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

Our home church has been studying the book of John this past month.  It has been a great reminder and encouragement for me to read, study, and pray over Jesus’ words and life.  In this verse, Jesus makes some very bold and true statements about this world and himself.  They are just as applicable today as they were then.

2018 started pretty rough: in one month’s time we had three officers in our community killed in the line of duty, one being a member of the church my family and I attend.  Since then, we have seen horrific acts of violence in schools across our country, including threats in the schools in which our Campus Life teams serve right here in the Denver Area.  The news at times can be overwhelming and discouraging!

In times like these, I am thankful for God’s Word and his encouragement that Jesus has overcome the world by his death and resurrection!  He knew we would need these times and I find myself clinging to these truths more and more.

This is why we want to share words of hope with teenagers who we work with on campuses, in juvenile facilities or in groups for parenting teens.   We know that kids are dealing with really hard issues and we want to tell them that Jesus knows them and He cares for them.

Thank you for being a part of the ongoing conversation with youth in our city and helping us share God’s story.  It’s our honor to be the storytellers on your behalf who meet kids right where they are and give life to their story.  We are dedicated to introducing the love of Christ into the stories of today’s kids.

Providing young people in our community with the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus  Christ and become part of a local church.
