From the prayers of the past generations, God has a special calling for the Brighton area children. It has been beautiful to see the fruitfulness over the last couple years with the open opportunities, kids that we have gotten to know, and their ultimate life-change for God. Vikan is a public school, but the school has welcomed us in as staff members with complete partnership. That means the light of God is shown to every kid multiple times a week with myself and the vigilant and prayerful ministry leaders. All with the passion to love ALL kids and show them Jesus. Some kids hang around more than others but, all are welcomed, seen and treasured. Of course, our desire would be to have everyone come to know Jesus, authentically and personally. But God is leading the way, and we are following His steps.
We have a lot of opportunities for you (as a volunteer) or your middle schooler to get involved. In Wednesday Club, we share a message, eat food, and play games from 4:30 to 5:45pm in the Vikan choir room. We also have small groups throughout the week, outings, mentoring appointments, retreats, camp stays and trips.
